Ajahn Thep was born in Khonkaen Province. He went to stay with his Grand parent at Chaiyaphum Province when he was 7 years old. After learning visha from his grandparent, he ordained as Novice monk at Wat Sakoet. He then further learn from his aunt and LP Woraphot at Wat Joomphon for another 2 years. He then went into forest to practice magic and meditation. He is already a qualified Master when he was only 13 years old.

He is now very popular for his Kumanthong, making many TV appearances in Thailand. His disciples are from many other countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Japan and etc.
